Hubungan Obesitas dan Diabetes Melitus dengan Derajat Keparahan Stenosis Arteri Koroner pada Pasien Penyakit Jantung Koroner di RSUD Ulin Banjarmasin
Abstract
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is caused by narrowing of the coronary arteries due to atherosclerosis. Obesity and diabetes mellitus are factors that may influence the progression of coronary artery stenosis. This study aimed to determine the relationship between obesity and diabetes mellitus and the severity of coronary artery stenosis in patients with CHD at Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin. This study used a correlational design with a cross-sectional approach and total sampling involving 123 patients. Data were obtained from medical records and analyzed using the Spearman correlation test. The results showed no significant relationship between obesity and the severity of coronary artery stenosis (r = 0.155; p = 0.088), while diabetes mellitus was significantly associated with the severity of coronary artery stenosis (r = 0.278; p = 0.002), with a weak positive correlation. In conclusion, diabetes mellitus is associated with the severity of coronary artery stenosis, whereas obesity was not significantly associated with stenosis severity.
