Determinan Current Account Indonesia: Peran Foreign Direct Investment, BI Rate, dan Indeks Harga Konsumen
Abstract
This study investigates the effects of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), the BI Rate, the Consumer Price Index (CPI), and a shock dummy variable on Indonesia’s Current Account Balance. The study employs annual secondary data covering the period 1998–2024 obtained from the World Bank, Bank Indonesia, and other official publications. Multiple linear regression is applied as the analytical method. The findings reveal that FDI has a negative and significant effect on the Current Account Balance. The findings reveal that FDI has a negative and statistically significant effect on Indonesia’s Current Account Balance. The BI Rate also has a negative and statistically significant effect, whereas the CPI and the shock dummy variable have positive but statistically insignificant effects. Simultaneously, the four explanatory variables significantly affect the Current Account Balance. These results suggest that foreign investment and macroeconomic conditions play an important role in maintaining Indonesia’s external balance.
